PageCraft Commercial License Agreement

This Commercial License Agreement ("License") governs the use of PageCraft ("Software"), an add-on for ExpressionEngine developed and distributed by Bison Digital.

1. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this License, Bison Digital grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use PageCraft in personal, commercial, and client ExpressionEngine projects.

PageCraft may be used to create and manage an unlimited number of websites for yourself, your organization, or your clients unless otherwise stated in the terms accompanying a specific release.

2. PageCraft 1.x Availability

PageCraft versions 1.x are currently provided free of charge.

Providing the Software without a license fee does not place PageCraft in the public domain, make it open-source software, or waive any ownership rights held by Bison Digital.

Bison Digital may change the pricing, licensing model, features, support terms, or availability of future versions of PageCraft.

A version of PageCraft lawfully obtained under this License may continue to be used under the terms that applied to that version.

3. Future Versions

Major future releases, including PageCraft 2.x and later, may require the purchase of a license, subscription, upgrade, or other commercial arrangement.

This License does not guarantee access to future major versions, premium features, services, updates, or support.

4. Permitted Use

You may:

  • Install and use PageCraft on websites you own or manage.
  • Install and use PageCraft on websites created for clients.
  • Use PageCraft in commercial website development projects.
  • Modify PageCraft for the purposes of integrating it into a website or project for which you are authorized to use the Software.
  • Make reasonable backup or development copies associated with authorized installations.

5. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Sell, sublicense, publish, distribute, or redistribute PageCraft as a standalone product.
  • Repackage PageCraft and offer it as your own add-on, product, library, or development tool.
  • Make PageCraft available for download or distribution to third parties except as necessary to deliver an authorized client project.
  • Remove or obscure copyright, licensing, attribution, or proprietary notices contained within the Software.
  • Use PageCraft or substantial portions of its source code to create and distribute a competing page-builder product or ExpressionEngine add-on.
  • Claim ownership or authorship of PageCraft or any portion of the Software owned by Bison Digital.

6. Client Projects

You may include PageCraft as part of a completed ExpressionEngine website delivered to a client.

The client may use PageCraft as part of that website but does not receive the right to separately redistribute, resell, sublicense, or repackage PageCraft.

7. Ownership

PageCraft is licensed, not sold.

Bison Digital retains all right, title, and interest in PageCraft, including its source code, interface, documentation, branding, and other original materials, except for third-party components identified separately.

No ownership rights are transferred under this License.

8. Third-Party Software

PageCraft may incorporate or depend upon third-party software, libraries, assets, or other components.

Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses and copyright notices. Nothing in this License is intended to restrict rights granted by, or override obligations imposed by, those third-party licenses.

9. Updates and Support

Unless separately stated by Bison Digital, this License does not guarantee technical support, maintenance, updates, compatibility updates, new features, or future releases.

Bison Digital may discontinue support or development of any version of PageCraft at its discretion.

10. Termination

Your rights under this License terminate automatically if you materially violate its terms.

Upon termination, you must stop distributing or creating new installations of PageCraft. Bison Digital may provide an opportunity to remedy a violation before termination where appropriate.

11. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BISON DIGITAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE PAGECRAFT.

13. Changes to This License

Bison Digital may publish different licensing terms for future versions of PageCraft.

Changes to the license for a future release do not retroactively alter the license granted for a version you previously obtained unless you expressly agree to the new terms.

Questions regarding commercial licensing, redistribution, OEM use, or other uses not permitted by this License may be directed to Bison Digital.
