Configuring a Field
Add a field of type Mason to a channel field group:
Developer → Fields → New Field → Type: Mason
Editor Mode
- Rich Text + Bricks (default) — the full editor plus the brick inserter.
- Rich Text Only — prose only; no bricks.
- Bricks Only — bricks only; no rich-text toolbar.
Toolbar
Controls which formatting tools the field offers — the equivalent of EE's RTE configurations, scoped per field.
Bricks-Only fields have no toolbar, so this setting doesn't apply to them.
- Basic — bold, italic, link.
- Standard — adds underline, strikethrough, headings and lists.
- Full (default) — adds alignment, tables, images, blockquote, code, sub/superscript and the horizontal rule.
- Custom — pick individual tools from the Custom tools checklist below the setting.
Your custom picks are remembered even while a named preset is selected, so you can switch back to Custom without re-ticking everything.
Narrowing a toolbar is safe. It only hides buttons — it never unloads the underlying editor features. Formatting already in a field (a table, an image, a code block) keeps loading, displaying and saving correctly even if the tool that created it is no longer offered. Authors simply can't add new formatting of that kind.
A brick's Rich text field has its own, separate toolbar setting using the same presets — see Field Kinds → Rich Text.
Editor Height
The minimum height of the editing area in pixels. Default: 200.
Bricks
A checklist of every brick in the global library. Tick the ones this field should offer authors.
Manage the library itself under Mason → Bricks — there's a link right in the setting.
If no bricks exist yet, you'll see a prompt to create your first one.
